A purpose-built denim stropping tool for cartridge razors. The tensioned denim surface provides a simple, repeatable way to maintain your razor between shaves.
A tensioned recycled-denim strip provides a consistent surface for routine razor maintenance.
When the denim eventually needs replacing, fit another strip rather than replacing the tool.
No batteries, sharpening stones or complicated technique.
Developed and manufactured by Razor Geeks in England.
Or hold it securely using the grip points.
Keep the cartridge resting naturally against the stropping surface.
Use approximately 10–15 smooth backward strokes.
Use the Maintainer periodically as part of your normal razor-care routine.
⟵ Backward strokes only. Do not shave forwards into the denim.
Every Razor Maintainer uses a replaceable stropping strip cut from reclaimed denim, giving discarded fabric another useful purpose — and a cutting template is included so you can make replacement strips from old jeans.

Please note: this interactive model is illustrative and differs from the physical product in some details — for example the fit of the denim strip and the size of the side bars. See the gallery above for photographs of actual production units.
Not in the conventional sense. It does not grind or cut a new blade edge. The Razor Maintainer is a stropping and maintenance tool: the cartridge is drawn backwards across tensioned denim as part of routine blade care. If you searched for a "razor sharpener", this is the maintenance-first alternative.
Place the Maintainer flat (or hold it by the grip points) and draw your razor backwards along the denim, around 10–15 smooth strokes. Never shave forwards into the fabric. Full instructions are included with every order.
A brief strop as part of your regular routine works well for most people — for example before or after each shave, or a couple of times a week. There's no need to overdo it.
The Razor Maintainer is designed for common cartridge razors, and we test it against popular UK systems. If you're unsure whether your razor is suitable, ask us before ordering and we'll confirm.
Yes — the stropping strip is designed to be replaceable. Peel a side tab, lift the bridge, and fit a fresh strip. A cutting template is included so replacement strips are always the right size.
Yes — that's the idea. Use plain, heavyweight denim; an old pair of jeans is ideal. Cut the strip using the included template, and avoid thin or high-stretch denim with a lot of elastane, which won't hold tension as well.
The Razor Maintainer is designed to help maintain blade performance between shaves. Actual cartridge life varies according to the blade, hair, shaving technique, storage and use.
